At Mowmacre Hill Primary School we have seven core members of the Advisory Board in total: 2 Parent ABMs (elected by the parent body), 2 Staff ABMs (the Headteacher plus 1 ABM elected by the staff body), 1 Community ABM (elected by the Advisory Board), the CEO of Discovery Schools Academy Trust and the DSAT Cluster leader (both ex-officio).

Meetings 2016/17


The Advisory Board meets once each half term, usually in the evening. Reports relating to the school’s work and pupil progress will be presented in advance of each meeting by the Headteacher and the trust’s Director of Quality Assurance.

Each half termly meeting will have a specific focus linked to the school’s priorities:

  • Autumn 1 (October): Review of outcomes of previous year’s data. Target setting for current year. Staff performance management procedures and pay committee.

  • Autumn 2 (December): Review of Trust Teaching and Learning report. Budget tracking.

  • Spring 1 (late January/early February): Review of Autumn Term progress data.

  • Spring 2 (March): Review of School compliance information eg Safeguarding, ICT, HR, H&S, Finance. Staffing needs analysis for following academic year. Budget tracking.

  • Summer 1 (late April/early May): Review of Spring Term progress data. School Development Planning.

  • Summer 2 (June): Review of Trust Teaching and Learning report; Staffing arrangements for following year; Budget tracking and review next year’s budget.
